According to reports today, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will now split their time between Portugal and Frogmore Cottage – as a royal expert says Meghan and Harry’s decision to renew the lease on the property will allow them to access as much as they want, and “because of total chaos”.
Brooksbanks has been subletting Frogmore from Sussex, but will now spend part of the year at the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury resort an hour’s drive south of Lisbon on Portugal’s picturesque Atlantic coast.
Mr Brooksbank, 36, has reportedly found a job with George Clooney’s longtime business partner, property mogul Mike Melderman. The Telegraph.
Eugenie’s husband previously worked for the tequila brand Casamigos, which the actor helped create. It was sold to Diageo in 2017 for £550m. He now works for Mr. Meldman’s Discovery Land, which has been developing CostaTerra since 2019.

A source close to the couple said: “Jack now works for Mike Melderman and they split their time between Portugal and London.”
Mr Clooney, his human rights lawyer wife Amal and their four-year-old twins Ella and Alexander are likely to be their Brooksbanks neighbours as they plan for the 300-family, 722-acre development buy a plot of land.
Eugenie, 32, is expected to remain director of London art gallery Hauser & Wirth, while the couple will remain at Frogmore during their return to the UK. The couple have a one-year-old son, August.
Mr Melderman acquired 722 acres of land on the Atlantic coast in 2019 for an initial investment of £435 million.
A wellness center, equestrian center, community village, 18-star golf course, 146 single-family homes and 29 other residences will be built next spring, the resort’s website says.
Just as Brooksbanks temporarily leaves Frogmore, Sussex prepares to stay there during his time in the UK.
Royal author Angela Levin said the Sussexes’ decision to renew the lease on the property may be related to their proposed deal with Netflix to film a documentary about their lives.

“One is that they need to get back inside the royal family so Netflix is happy and they can make a good movie,” she told MailOnline.
“With this lease, they can go back and forth as much as they want and cause complete chaos.
“Meghan doesn’t even like Frogmore. It’s only five bedrooms, not like their mansion in Los Angeles. So I don’t think they’ll be planning to stay there for long.
In another development, Princes William and Harry are said to be working to improve their connection to regular video calls and messages and are “very back to their old partnership terms”.
Tensions between the brothers have passed since the 37-year-old Duke of Sussex moved to California and resigned from the royal family, as they are now in regular contact with their respective children, a person familiar with the matter explained.
Sources told the Mirror that Harry and William were one-on-one without a wife.
