Phoebe Burgess hits back after being accused of being ‘Australia’s own Amber Heard’

Phoebe Burgess has published a lengthy response to an evil troll who accused her of being ‘Australia’s own Amber Heard’.

The former WAG, who has accused her ex-husband Sam Burgess of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse during their marriage, shared screenshots of the exchange on her Instagram on Sunday and said she would no longer “keep silent”.

Referring to the blockbuster court case between Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Phoebe, 32, said if Depp’s mission was to “send a message to all abusers and misogynists. The signal, which is to not trust women, he succeeded.”

The troll commented on Phoebe’s recent Instagram Story, which saw the lifestyle influencer sitting in her car, showing off her fashionable outfit of the day.

‘Get a new story you’re an absolute loser. Your kids will despise what you do. Australia’s own Amber Heard,” the troll wrote.

In response, Phoebe told her nearly 87,000 followers that while she doesn’t usually “legitimize” such comments, it’s important to point out “ignorant, unacceptable behavior.”

Phoebe wrote: “If any of you are uncomfortable with the way Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard is being portrayed and consumed: I hear it, sister.”

“If his mission was to send a signal to all abusers and misogynists not to trust women, then he succeeded.”

Depp has denied any physical or sexual abuse and said Hurd fabricated the claims to damage Depp’s reputation.

Phoebe had previously accused ex-husband Sam, 33, of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse in their marriage, which ended acrimoniously in late 2019.

The allegations, published in The Australian in October 2020, were strongly denied by Sam at the time.

In October, however, police cleared Sam of any wrongdoing after a year-long investigation.

NSW Police spent more than 12 months reviewing the claims and confirmed in a 12-word statement that the investigation had been closed.

“Following an extensive investigation, no further police action is expected,” a spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

The original report by The Australian followed a “four-month investigation” and included statements by Phoebe and her father, Mitchell Hook.

The newspaper said the reports relied on “drug records, sworn statements to NSW Police, statutory declarations and witness statements”.

They also made use of “call logs, emails, text messages, bank records, WhatsApp transactions and Uber receipts”.

The allegations cost Sam a coaching job in South Sydney and a commentary job on Fox Sports.

“These allegations are false and constitute an irrefutable defamation against my client,” defamation attorney Mark O’Brien, who represented Sam, said after the report was published.

“It is clear that the source of the false allegations are those who are currently at issue with my clients on various issues.”

Hurd outlined more than a dozen specific instances where she said she was beaten by Depp.

Depp has denied any physical or sexual abuse and said Hurd fabricated the claims to damage Depp’s reputation. Many of Depp’s online fans have focused on their belief that Heard was dishonest, and that will determine the outcome.

But the case itself is a defamation lawsuit.

Depp, 58, is suing his ex-wife Heard, 36, for $50 million for a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed she was ” Public figures representing domestic abuse”.

His team argued that she was the abuser and provided recorded evidence of the actress admitting to beating Depp.

They also said she threw a bottle at him and severed his finger, forcing him to undergo multiple surgeries to fix it.

Hurd then filed a $100 million countersuit against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, alleging that a 2020 “Waldman Statement” provided to the media by Depp’s former attorney Adam Waldman claimed her allegations were “abuse” scam”.

A verdict on the case is expected next week.
