The severe stroke was caused by a blood clot on the right side of Mr Markle’s brain. He is believed to be in hospital in San Diego, a three-hour drive from Meghan and Harry’s California mansion.

If his condition worsens, Meghan’s presence at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee may be called into question – or she may have to cut short her trip to the UK to be by his side.

her husband Prince Harry, 37, their children arrived in the UK this week. An insider said: “Despite their estrangement, Meghan is concerned. She wonders if there is any way to contact her father privately without the rest of the family knowing or having to get involved.”

Meghan also reportedly gave her husband Prince Harry time to rebuild his relationship with his brother Will.

Meghan has contacted her dad Thomas

Meghan is said to be concerned that contacting her dad will mean having to communicate with her half-siblings Thomas and Samantha, 55.

Sam, 57, who has filed a defamation lawsuit against Meghan, has remained at his Florida home but may soon be flying out to be with their dad.

Thomas is believed to be hospitalized with his father.

Our source said: “Meghan is unable to contact her half-siblings because she believes they have their own agenda.

“If she can get in touch with their father, she wants complete secrecy. It won’t involve Netflix, it will not involve any photos, nor any whistleblowing to the paparazzi. “

Meghan’s relationship with her dad fell apart after he was photographed by paparazzi measuring his suit before his wedding in 2018.

It caused a huge stench and he missed the wedding. The official cause was a heart attack – one of two he suffered. Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland was in attendance as her father-in-law, Prince Charles, led her down the aisle of St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Thomas later claimed Meghan did not respond to his attempts to contact her.

He also glanced at Harry after a tense phone call. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan spoke about her father’s “betrayal”. The rift deepened when details of a letter Meghan wrote to her father finally surfaced in the media, leading to a court battle over copyright and privacy.

Thomas has never seen Harry or his grandsons Archie (three) and Lilibet (next Saturday).

When talking about miscarriage and feelings of loss, Meghan mentioned her dad.

She said: “I’m heartbroken. I mean, I lost my father. I lost a baby. But I’m still standing.”

Meghan’s team has been contacted for comment.
