Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates daughter Ruby’s ‘beautiful’ wedding to partner Kynthia

Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated her daughter Ruby’s wedding over the weekend, but it wasn’t a traditional wedding.

The Halloween star shared photos from the event showing trans bride Ruby and her partner Kynthia dressed as their favourite video game characters in “cosplay” outfits.

Curtis, 63, has previously revealed that she will be wearing a World of Warcraft costume to officiate the wedding, playing the character Jaina Proudmoore.

Cosplay is a combination of “costume play,” an activity popular with fans of fantasy and science fiction, in which cosplayers dress up as specific characters.

It’s unclear which character Ruby chose, although some fans speculate it was inspired by the video game series “SkullGirls.”

Her partner Kinthia dressed up as Elphelt Valentine, the protagonist of the Guilty Gear series.

Curtis admits that she occasionally “slips” Ruby’s pronouns, though Ruby says she’s never “angry” when that happens because she knows her mom is doing her best.

“It’s speaking a new language,” she said. “It’s learning new terms and vocabulary. I’m new. I’m not someone who pretends to know a lot. I’m going to screw up, I’m going to make mistakes. I’m trying to avoid making big mistakes.

Ruby said she knew she was different when she was around 16, but because of negative experiences in therapy, she didn’t come out “when I probably should have been.”

It wasn’t until a few years ago, when she was still going on a date with Tom and her current fiancé, that she first admitted she might be transgender.

Her fiancé said: “I love you for who you are.”
