Another added: “If anyone thinks it’s not a father-daughter love, that’s the problem. If you’re sexualizing it, you’re not good.

“Anyone who says kissing your kids on the lips is wrong will talk more about them. Beautiful pictures and a wonderful family,” another commented.

Some also insist that anyone who might find the feeling strange is unfamiliar with Mediterranean culture, which is often said to be more open and sensitive.

“Only people who don’t understand culture find it strange,” said one commenter. “My Greek son always kisses and hugs his wonderful father.”

The TV personality also shared the article on his Twitter, some of which were less supportive.

One said: “It’s fine if you kiss your daughter on the lips, but if you choose to post the photo on social media, you really can’t complain.

Another argued: “It’s more to do with infections etc, you can get through cold sores etc, so why not just use the cheeks.”

In December 2019, Gino hit back at trolls who claimed he was “weird” for sharing pictures of himself hugging and kissing his daughter Mia in bed.

The TV chef shared a video on Twitter as he cuddled with his little girl, insisting that those who were uncomfortable with the raw photos taken in November were actually “weird” people.

Sharing the video, Gino said: “Last time I posted a picture of me and you in bed kissing and hugging a lot of people and they thought it was weird.”

“I think it’s good because we hug each other and I love you so much.”

Mia asked, “Why do they think it’s weird?”

He told her, “I don’t know, they’re weird, there’s nothing wrong with a daughter and dad hugging in bed?” What are we going to say to these weird people?

However, when his daughter responded to Gino by flicking the camera with her middle finger, Gino opened his mouth and shouted, “Mom is going to kill you!”

Fans of the TV personality also came to his defense a month ago when he posted an innocent photo of himself holding his daughter in bed.

While many of Gino’s followers praised the sweet photo, some were shocked to call it “creepy”.

Another added: “She can at least wear it I’m really sorry but it’s not our fault what we think. The world is such a mess.

A third chimed in: “Gino, I love you but this photo of your daughter in bed is creepy.”

However, most of his followers defended him – with one retorting: “There’s nothing wrong with pictures of dad and daughter”.

Another said: “Why do some people have to make this picture look bad?! This is a dad who loves his daughter’s morning hugs.
