Falling in love with Una Healy makes Lottie Ryan thankful for new romance with Dublin Police

Una Healy would like to thank Lottie Ryan for playing Cupid for her new romance.

The late Gerry Ryan’s daughter introduced the Saturday singer to her Garda boyfriend, people familiar with the matter said.

“He lives in a station in the southern county of Garda, Dublin, and is a bit of a big guy,” a friend revealed. “They started dating late last year and their first big trip was a romantic trip in Mexico.

“Garda is Lottie’s friend and it was she who introduced Una to this newcomer.”

The couple still needs to be photographed publicly, and Una is protecting his privacy.

Una and Lottie became good friends through media work, mainly through 2FM.

But as the star headed to country singer Cliona Hagan’s star-studded wedding in Tang, Co. Westmeath, County Down on Wednesday, there was no sign of Yuna’s Mysterious newcomer.

Instead, Yuna, in a bright orange dress, brought her proud mum Annie as her plus one. Anne is the sister of country star Declan Nani, who also attended the wedding with his wife Margot.

Cliona married long-time love and fellow Tyrone-born Simon Sheerin, and the couple hosted a reception at the five-star Kilronan Castle Hotel in Roscommon with other guests including Marty Morrissey, Susan McCann, Simon Casey, Louise Morrissey and Johnny Brady.

Una might be able to give Cliona some tips about Mexico, as the newlyweds are honeymooning there before taking a US tour in Miami, Las Vegas and Nashville.

Tipperary girl Una previously dated Limerick GAA star David Brin. The couple started going out in late 2018 but parted ways in February.

Una has previously said that David is not her “forever” and they may have been together soon after her divorce from Ben Foden.

Former England rugby star Ben, who was married to the singer for six years before ending their marriage in 2018, said “time is a good therapist for them”.

But he admits he put a lot of pressure on the mother of two at the time, admitting he was unfaithful to her.

“I know time is going to be the biggest healer, and like anything in this world, you need time,” he said recently.

“Oona is a smart woman, she might be disappointed in me, she knows we have two kids and now our main job as humans on this planet is to raise those kids together and hopefully we can turn them into Pretty people when they get old.”

Una is now raising their two children, Tadgh and Aoife, at her home in Co. Tipperary.

Meanwhile, Lottie returned to Ireland after sister Bonnie’s wedding in Italy last Monday.

Lottie was the lead bridesmaid at the wedding she married five years ago at St. Augustine’s Church in the village of La Marche, where Lottie’s husband, Fabio April’s grandparents own a house.

Lottie’s husband, John Greenhalgh, was pictured standing on the balcony serenading her the night before the wedding, an Italian tradition.

Bonnie is enjoying a few days of sunshine in Italy as part of her “mini moon” ahead of her official honeymoon in late summer.

The bulk of her wedding party has now returned to Ireland, with many of them set to attend tonight’s party in Dublin, promoted by Gerry’s eldest son Rex Ryan.

Singing at the Glass Mast Theatre Bestseller Coffee Club on Dawson Street will be Don Mescall, who has been dating Gerry’s widow Morah for four years.
