have i lost you?
If you’re a business leader, probably. Entrepreneurs and business leaders are known for being nail-hard, highly rational, and skeptical of ethereal fairy-tale concepts. On the surface, intuition might sound like the latter.
But what if I told you that an intuitive business requires less effort and delivers better results? Your ears may perk up.
Along with creativity, risk-taking and resilience, intuition is a key trait all business leaders should possess. Intuition is often thought of as information that we receive instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning or facts.
Intuition, also known as the “sixth sense,” “intuition,” and “inner cognition,” refers to our ability to receive information subconsciously. It’s important to note that intuition is not pure instinct, nor is it chaos. Intuition is the subtle voice in all of us that shows us the right path.
If you’re not convinced that your life requires more intuition, here are four reasons it’s one of the most underrated business (and life) skills.
1. Intuition keeps you consistent
Deep down, we all know when something is “not normal.”
But when our brains tell us something is the “better” option, it’s easy to ignore that intuition. Reason can tell us that a business transaction, opportunity or relationship is good for us. When deep down, we know it’s not.
When we follow our intuition, we avoid the heartache that comes with taking a path that is inconsistent with our higher mission. If your gut tells you something is wrong, it’s not right. run.
2. Can speed up response time
In a world where everyone has no time, speeding up decision-making can be a superpower. research shows Guiding with intuition will speed up your response time.
That alone isn’t all that impressive, so it’s good news that the same study found “unconscious emotional information improves accuracy and confidence.” You heard that right. Putting your intuition first makes you faster and more accurate.
This can be an invaluable skill as an entrepreneur or business leader. But it is important to emphasize that data, processes and facts also have their place. The best results tend to occur when intuition is complemented by hard evidence.
3. Intuition brings you closer to your ideal customer
Data, history and analytics can tell us a lot about our ideal customers.
But no matter how much research we do, we’ll never know what our ideal customer thinks. Unless, of course, we build deeper connections.
Intuition brings us closer to natural intelligence and the flow of the universe. In doing so, we can access information that seems to come from nowhere. It’s just a deep sense of awareness.
This understanding can also extend to information about our ideal clients. By leveraging our intuition, we can serve customers on a deeper level.
Listen to your gut when it tells you what people want. It knows more than you might think.
4. You will become a better leader
The decision-making process becomes clearer when you act on your intuition. You’ll be able to stop guessing about your options and provide better guidance to your team.
As your own mind becomes clearer, you will be able to stay true to your vision.less clutter, clearer better business leaders.

Intuition plus data is the perfect combination
I use intuition a lot in my business. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is part intuition, part data.
When creating SEO content, we use data to show us where and how people search. But the innate knowledge of how our ideal client thinks and wants to receive content is largely intuitive.
When I sense something resonates, or that words in sequence work, I run with it. When you practice this skill over and over, the intuition muscle gets stronger.
Don’t just take it from me. The study found While “the skill of intuitive pattern recognition is not something that everyone acquires automatically…it’s not a special power either: it comes with experience, practice, learning, and constructive feedback.”
